Can you remember the last time you had a comprehensive eye exam? If not, you should make an appointment to visit our vision practice, Eyes On You, so that you can receive a complete eye exam. Our expert optometrist, Dr. Michelle Y. Williams, will provide you with a Tremley eye exam to make sure that your eyes are healthy and to determine whether or not you need an eyeglass lens prescription.
It is important that adults have their eyes examined every year, or even more frequently if directed by our optometrist. Eye disease testing is very important because there are many eye diseases which show no symptoms in the early stages. This means that people can be walking around with these vision problems without even knowing it. And, many eye diseases can go on to cause permanent vision damage if they are not treated promptly. Glaucoma is a disease that shows no obvious symptoms when it first occurs. However, if it is left to progress, the patient can develop permanent damage to the optic nerve. The good news is that if glaucoma is detected early during a comprehensive eye exam, that the patient can be easily treated with prescription eye drops which will keep their intraocular pressure at a safe level, and the disease will not progress. During our Tremley eye exam, your eyes will be screened for many eye diseases and disorders including: glaucoma; cataracts; macular degeneration; diabetic retinopathy; retinal tears; dry eyes; and other problems of the cornea, macula, and retina. During our eye exam we will also check to make sure that you do not have any refractive errors. If it is found that you are nearsighted, farsighted, or have astigmatism, our eye doctor will write a lens prescription for you so that you will be able to see clearly. We also offer a contact lens exams and fittings for our patients who want to have their eyes examined and be fitted for contact lenses.
